The Nigerian Women’s Trust Fund (WF) was created in 2011 to increase the representation of women in Nigerian governance at all levels and address the growing concerns about the gender imbalance in elective and appointive positions. The goal of the Fund is to institutionalize access to resources for women in politics in Nigeria.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 5 years, renewable yearly
Reports to: CEO
Main Role
- Under the guidance of the CEO, the Programme Coordinator of NWTF and her partner organization, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will have the following specific responsibilities and will provide the following deliverables:
- Develop and strengthen monitoring and evaluation plan and procedures.
- Monitor all project activities and progress towards achieving the project outputs.
- Develop monitoring and impact indicator for the project success.
- Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all project activities and provide inputs, information, and statistics for quarterly, annual, and other reports.
- Participate in annual project reviews and assist the project coordinators of NWTF and her partner organization in preparing relevant reports.
- Record, manage and preserve monitoring and evaluation data in a safe and accessible way.
- Assist the project personnel of NWTF and partner organization in the donor funded project with M&E tools and in supporting them in their use.
- Provide feedback to the project coordinators of NWTF and its partner organization on project strategies and activities.
- Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results and update (if needed and in accordance with the donor guidelines), the project documentation to reflect potential modifications in the activities.
- Monitor the sustainability of the project’s results.
- Suggest strategies to the project coordinator and NWTF copartner organization for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities; potential synergies with other components or risks of duplications and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks.
- Support the project coordinators of NWTF and its partner on demand and implement all required working tasks.
Requirements
Educational qualifications:
- Bachelor’s and or Postgraduate Degree in Political Science, international relations, Gender and Development, or related field with focus on monitoring and evaluation.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of M&E / MIS in development projects implemented by national/international NGOs / UN bodies / Government.
- Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and
- production of reports.
- Experience drafting reports and expertise in analyzing data using statistical software.
- Prior working experience within national and or international organizations and experience of working with donor funded projects is an added advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of monitoring and the application of methodology.
- Good understanding of capacity assessment methodologies.
Core skills:
- Significant experience in developing monitoring plans and/or management information systems,
- Minimum of 2 years working with NGOs in the Nigerian democratic context
- Excellent interpersonal, multicultural and team building skills.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in spreadsheets, database, and statistical applications.
Work Environment:
- Traditional Office hours of 8am – 5pm weekdays.

Job Title: Program Director
Location: Abuja

Key Result
- Contribute to closing the gender gaps in Nigeria’s governance process under the institutional mandate of NWTF.
Purpose
- Fundraising, Programme Management, Strategy Development Documentation, Networking and Alliances building, Monitoring and Evaluation.
Key Actions
- Report to the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Women Trust Fund
- Apply proven experience in governance and women’s leadership, program development, implementation and demonstrated experience in grant-making or related activities to prepare funding proposals and periodically prepare work plans.
Strategy Development:
- Conduct regular analysis of gender and development issues on inclusive and participatory democracy in line with the NWTF’s thematic priorities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the NWTF’s strategy.
- Contribute to the development of thematic work output particularly on resource mobilization to support women’s active participation in governance, gender advocacy and leadership development.
Program Development:
- Apply proven experience in governance, women’s leadership, and participation to manage program development, implementation and grant-making or related activities to prepare funding and project proposals, and periodically prepare work plans.
- Facilitation of dialogue, meetings, workshops and seminars with government representatives, civil society, and international development partners.
- Maintain accurate records and monitor the performance and impact of all programme/project implementation to capture the lessons learned.
- Coordinate database, projects, activities, documents, processes, collation of statistics on women’s leadership and political participation, etc.
- Supervise and coordinate the programme team.
- Pursue alliances, network, and collaboration with organizations with similar or complimentary thematic focus.
- Identify opportunities and aid in developing relationships for promoting women’s leadership political participation.
- Carry out any other duty that may be assigned by the CEO.
Requirements
Education:
- Advance Degree or certification in Gender and Development Studies, Business Administration, Political Science, International Relations, Law, Development Studies, Media, Communications, Sociology, Political Science, Public Policy and Management or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years knowledge and working experience of gender mainstreaming, fundraising, promoting gender equality in electoral and governance processes
- Knowledge of the landscape for addressing barriers to women’s leadership and inclusion in Nigeria and Africa preferable.
- Previous experience of providing technical assistance to enable institutions including public, private, and civil society organizations) to mainstream gender considerations.
- Previous relevant professional work experience in international organizations and / or non-governmental agencies involved in women’s leadership and development

Job Title: Program Coordinator

Main Role
- Project’s Program Coordinator’s key tasks will be to realize the successful implementation of all the activities under the donor supported women political participation programme and work closely with officials of partner organizations and beneficiaries of the programme.
- The Programme Coordinator will have the responsibility for coordinating NWTF’s implementation of the program from the Abuja office and in all the focal states.
- The post holder will ensure that planning and implementation is in accordance with approved work plan and budget, while making certain that monitoring and evaluation is on track as well as the project visibility.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in the Social Sciences including Law, Political Science, Communications, Economics, Gender and Development, Public Policy and Management.
- A Master’s Degree in development or a related field is an added advantage.
Experience:
- 5 – 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area, broad familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in women political participation in the Nigerian context.
Key Requirements:
- The program coordinator must possess a certain degree of creativity, innovation and latitude including a good understanding and knowledge of the Nigerian democratic and political environment and its interplay around women’s inclusion and political participation.
- Must be female and familiar with development partners, government, and civil society organizations with demonstrated knowledge of the Nigerian political environment.
- Critical thinking, problem solving, organization, attention to detail, leadership, clear spoken and written communication, active listening, and can perform a variety of tasks.

Job Title: Finance Officer
Location: Abuja
Contract Type: Full Time

Main Role
- Be professional and versatile in the use of online QuickBooks
- Responsible for the management and supervision of financial administration systems, procedures and ensure full compliance.
- Responsible for verification of expenditure and implementation of corresponding payments.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports/statements for the project with standard accounting principles-including budget tracking.
- Review all the supporting documents related to the projects to ensure that they comply with NWTF rules prior to any commitment to suppliers.
- Ensure financial system data is up to date and adherence to financial requirements.
- Ensure accurate production of donor reports in accordance with the specified format within the agreed timeframe in coordination with program.
- Ensure Donor Contract Management Systems are updated, with up-to-date information (grant amount, duration of grant, allocation to projects, contract realignments, reporting dates).
- Ensure that the originals of the supporting documents of all project transactions, including partners transactions, are filed/archived in NWTF office to allow easy access during audit or Pre-audits.
- Support in cash and bank management including cash handling and cash flow monitoring.
- Review all partners financial reports and supporting documents monthly and provide written feedback to partners for adjustments or disallowed expenditures.
- Support efficient conduct of statutory audit, partners’ audit, and donor fund audits in collaboration with finance teams in the field base.
- Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial report for internal and external purposes.
- Ensure compliance of government law and regulation in relation to taxation.
- Review the Balance Sheet accounts and submit monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation and closing documents for review and further submission.
- Review of monthly payroll and ensure all statutory deductions for the month are promptly remitted.
Requirements
Educational qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field. Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in the implementation of development projects implemented by national / international NGOs / UN bodies / Government

Main Role
- Update and maintain the organization’s social media presence, including daily monitoring, posting, scheduling, and reporting online media updates.
- Assist, develop, write, edit, and proof-read communications materials such as articles, web stories, newsletters, and social networking activities (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Provide administrative support to programs and internal teams.
