Job Title: HR Assistant

Locations: Abuja and Benue
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description

  • The HR Assistant will assist with the management and delivery of several HR initiatives under the project in Benue.
  • The HR Assistant provides high level support to the HR Business Lead across a broad range of HR functions and responsibilities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordination of HR benchmarking activities, collation of data, accurate and timely submissions.
  • Keeps the HR Business Lead informed about project status and issues that may impact HR service delivery or project outcomes.
  • Undertake field visitation to supervise and manage ad hoc staff.
  • Manage project risk and escalate issues to the appropriate level when needed.
  • Manage the payroll system for the HR unit, including liaising with Finance unit to ensure timely and accurate remittance.
  • Prepare personnel action records (PARS) for Finance action informing of any payroll additions and/or changes. These personnel actions include new hire, secondments, transfers, leavers and other amendments to salaries and employee data in compliance with policy and payroll requirements.
  • Support the recruitment process with tasks such as preparing shortlists, scheduling of interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks.
  • Drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
  • Monitor, coordinate and provide guidance in the resolution of business-related problems with project staff and other subcontractors.
  • Follow-up on timesheet and leave matters.
  • Collect and collate required data/documentation for the health insurance scheme and group life insurance scheme.
  • Other ad hoc duties consistent with the position as requested by the HR, Business Lead.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc / B.A in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or its recognized equivalent with 1 – 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with the Ukum, Logo, Katsina Ala, Guma, Vandeikya, Gwer East and Kwande LGAs in Benue is required.
  • Fluency in English and the local language is required.
  • Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is an advantage.
  • Experience of HR in the international development organization is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the local communities, cultures and geography of the State.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality for sensitive Human Resources issues or projects and use judgment to execute duties and responsibilities.
  • Recordkeeping, report preparation, filing methods and records management techniques.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills and ability to draft and deliver timely quality evaluation reports.
  • Objectivity and the ability to apply HR rules and regulations in a fair and consistent manner.

Job Title: Program Assistant

Location: Logo LGA, Benue
Employment Type: Contract

Job Overview

  • The Program Assistant will support the coordination of the Targeted Community HIV Testing and Retentionproject implementation in the assigned LGA, to ensure that the project is well-organized and is completed on time, and within budget.
  • This position is in Logo LGA in Benue state.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Program Officer to maintain adequate records of all documentation and correspondence with donors
  • Track program reporting requirements and help ensure that report deadlines are met
  • Ensure that requests for payment from field staff are accurately completed and submitted to the Finance team
  • Work with the Project Officer to ensure that program quality standards are maintained and that programs adhere to 360HSDC and donors’ requirements, including retention of relevant documents
  • Provide administrative support to the Program Director and Program Officer as requested
  • Other duties as requested

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or other related fields, or equivalent job experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in programmatic support; international health projects are an advantage
  • A broad variety of administrative, financial, and computer skills (including Word Access, Excel, PowerPoint, outlook, and Access), which may need to be acquired through very quick learning.
  • Experience in coordinating USG funded projects and familiarity with international donor policies and administrative procedures
  • Proven track record of working with a project team composed of technical experts, program, and finance staff.
  • Proficiency in writing and editing letters, reports, and documents
  • Fluency in any local language in the project state will be an advantage

Job Overview

  • The Program Officer will grow the program by working in collaboration with staff of the organization to develop project proposals, engage with existing and potential donors, and produce written materials for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • S/He will also play a significant role in directly contributing to the success of the project by delivering technical assistance and providing subject matter expertise and support.
  • This position will be based in Ondo State.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, plan and manage 360HSDC’s support to the HIV/AIDS testing program in the State
  • Coordinate key program strategies and results for the project
  • Overall monitoring and analysis of the program environment and advise on timely readjustments of strategies and activities
  • Identify new areas of support and facilitate implementation of new initiatives
  • Close communication with all stakeholders and promotion of 360HSDC’s mandate; provide recommendations and program/policy advice based on results
  • Liaise with government and civil society counterparts
  • Organize and participate as a resource person in advocacy meetings, round-tables, training workshops and other meetings related to specific HIV/AIDS issues
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate technical reports and other materials relating to the project
  • Represent the project in technical forums at field level
  • Participate in the donor progress report writing, continuation application and quarterly review report writing and presentation.
  • Provide technical support for weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual project performance reviews
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Development Studies, or other related Social Sciences or Medical Degree; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3 years minimum experience, in all-inclusive HIV testing services with focus on index case testing (ICT) and targeted PITC, PMTCT, with a mix of both community and facility strategies.
  • Knowledge of Ondo West LGAis an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of the local communities, cultures and geography of the State.
  • Knowledge of new business development for health, proposal writing and budget development.
  • Knowledge of company’s main clients and its operations.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills and ability to draft and deliver timely quality evaluation reports.
