Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted a student of School of Nursing and Midwifery in Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital, (UDUTH) Sokoto.

The gunmen were said to have taken over the road and abducted Zahra and many others.
A family friend of the student, Abdul-Rahman Geto, confirmed the incident.
He said the abductors contacted her family and demanded N30m ransom but later reduced it to N3m after negotiations.
“This young girl Zahra was abducted by bandits along Sokoto – Shinkafi Road on Saturday. She’s a student of UDUTH Sokoto.
“On same Saturday, they asked for 30 million naira ransom, but yesterday after long period of negotiation, they settled at 3 million Naira. I pray that she should regain her freedom as soon as possible,” he said.
