A member of the Federal House of Representatives has empowered youths in his constituency in Borno state, with materials to become cobblers.

The legislator distributed local shoe shining box and other materials to hundreds of unemployed youths in the state.

A Borno state Indigene took to Twitter to share photos from the empowerment ceremony while criticising the lawmaker’saction.

The tweep wrote; ”One house of representative shared shoe-shining materials in name of youth empowerment for people in my region.

We’ve been defeated by poverty bro and politicians taking the advantage.”

Similarly, in September, the wife of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, Rashida Bello distributed canoes to Lokoja residents as a result of flood ravaging the area.

Some pictures of the canoes at the seaside while being prepared to be delivered are already making the rounds online.

Mrs Bello’s name as well as the logo of the All progressives Congress (APC) were boldly pasted on the canoes.

Flood had recently taken over some areas which is denying residents access to some of the major roads in Lokoja, the state capital.

Though the first lady thought it was a kind gesture to help residents, social media users criticised the action.
