Adamawa Election Result Collation Suspended, Declaration Of Binani is Power Usurpation of Returning Officer – INEC

Following the Declaration Of Aisha Binani as the winner of Adamawa State Governorship Election by Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), the independent Electoral Commission INEC has issued statement to describe the declaration as the usurpation of Power.

Read the INEC statement below:

The attention of the Commission has been drawn to a purported declaration of winner in the Adamawa Governorship election by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) even when the process has clearly not been concluded.
The action of the REC is a usurpation of the power of the Returning Officer. It is null, void and of no effect.Consequently, the collation of results of the supplementary election is hereby suspended.

Also a video has been circulated online where a REC of INEC declares Binani as the winner of the election when the collation hasn’t completed.

In the video,the INEC REC in Adamawa in company of the CP announcing Aisha Binani of the APC as winner of the election, without no document with him and read no figures. He was casual and panicking.
