Delta Police Commissioner, Abass Orders Detention Of Inspector Who Shot Teenager In Abdomen

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Wale Abass, has ordered the detention of a police inspector who reportedly shot a teenager in his abdomen on Tuesday.

SaharaReporters had reported that the incident happened at stop-and-search checkpoint along the East-West road in Ughelli area of the state.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in a statement issued through the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Edafe Bright, warned that the command under him would never tolerate any unprofessional conduct from any personnel.

He maintained that the Nigeria Police Force did not tolerate such unprofessional conduct and appealed to members of the public to remain calm, assuring that justice would be served in the case.

“On this premise, the Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass ordered the immediate detention of the erring Police Inspector.

“The injured victim is being treated. Meanwhile, the CP urges members of the public to remain calm, as he guarantees Justice,” the statement partly read.
