Nigerian Federal Lawmaker, Tunji Akinosi, Caught On Camera Physically Assaulting Policeman At Public Event In Ogun

A member of the Nigerian House of Representatives representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, Tunji Akinosi has been caught on camera physically assaulting a policeman at the 2023 Iganmode Day Celebration.

According to reports and a viral video seen a online, the lawmaker was upset when the policeman attached to the convoy of Ogun Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele was trying to clear the pathway for the deputy governor at the event.

The lawmaker was reportedly angered when a security operative tried to tell the lawmaker and other guests to move to their reserved seats to clear the pathway for the deputy governor.

He subsequently punched the policeman but some people nearby quickly came to the rescue of the security personnel.

In May, Akinosi was caught on camera threatening to assault a woman.

A video showing the moment Akinosi assaulted a woman for intervening after his vehicle knocked down a street hawker in Lagos.

The woman claimed that Mr Akinosi’s black Prado SUV brushed the hawker and knocked him to the ground.

The lawmaker had reportedly ignored the hawker who was groaning in pain, until the woman and other passers-by intervened to demand that he take the hawker to the hospital. Instead, the lawmaker was seen engaging her in an argument.

In the short video, Mr Akinosi is seen charging at the woman who was recording the drama with her phone.

“Madam, if you do that, I am going to injure you,” he said.
