Nigerian Police Confirm Abduction Of Imo State Traditional Ruler From Palace

It was learnt that the traditional ruler was kidnapped on Saturday around 8.15 am within his domain.

His Royal Highness, Eze Samuel Ohiri, the former Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, and the ruler of Odumara Orodo autonomous community in Mbaitoli LGA in Imo State has been abducted. 

It was learnt that the traditional ruler was kidnapped on Saturday around 8.15 am within his domain.

Four male kidnappers heavily armed with a green-coloured Toyota Highlander jeep were said to have stormed the community and kidnapped the former Ezeimo while his cousin escaped.

Confirming the incident, the Imo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, said the command had commenced intense investigation to unravel the circumstances behind the incident.

The spokesman explained that the Command had taken some affirmative steps towards ensuring that the victim was rescued. 

He assured that the suspected kidnappers would be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

The police affirmed that updates on the case would be communicated in due course.
