
The former chief whip stated this in one of his recent public speeches while mocking the immediate past governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, for struggling to continue to be relevant in the state.
The former Chief Whip of Rivers State House of Assembly, Evans Bipi, has confessed that the Labour Party won the 2023 general elections in the state but the result was manipulated.
The former chief whip stated this in one of his recent public speeches while mocking the immediate past governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, for struggling to continue to be relevant in the state.
“Last week they (APC) went for a Thanksgiving party and were bragging that they wished tomorrow were 2027, with you, can they win 2027? They were bragging they wish tomorrow was 2027 as they won in 2023, Labour Party won, we know how we did it.”
“If the glory of God has left a man, do you know what the man will try to do? The man will attend the burial, he will attend the naming ceremony, he will thanksgiving, he will attend the birthday party because the glory has departed from the man. Now, the glory is upon the governor. There must not be two leaders at a time, it must always be one leader at a time.”
During the polls in February 2023, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the All Progressives Congress winner of the presidential election in Rivers State after polling a total of 231,591 from the 23 local government areas of the state.
The APC won 14 LGAs, the Labour Party, five, and the PDP won four.
Recall that things did not go well with Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Wike shortly after the former was inaugurated until the intervention of President Bola Tinubu which calmed the political tension in the state.
