Breaking: Veteran Actor, Amaechi Muonagor is dead

Renowned for his comedic performances on screen, Nigerian actor Amechi Muonagor has passed away after a prolonged struggle with kidney disease.

Last year, his cousin, Tony, shared Muonagor’s health update on Facebook, stating that Muonagor was contending with kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke.

Recently, Muonagor appealed to Nigerians for financial assistance for a scheduled kidney transplant in India.

This heartbreaking announcement of Muonagor’s demise was validated by a source within his family on Sunday evening, March 24, 2024.

Gistcore media understands that Amaechi Muonagor’s death is coming just a few days after his viral video was seen, in which he solicited funds to help him have a Kidney transplant.

Meanwhile, as of the time of filing this report, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), the umbrella association he belongs to was yet to issue any statement on his demise, neither has his family

Gistcore reports that Amaechi Muonagor death comes weeks after another Nollywood actor Mr Ibu died.

Muonagor, a native of Idemili in Anambra State, southeast Nigeria, was born on August 20, 1962.

He was an actor and producer. In 2016, he was nominated for AMVCA 2017 Best Actor in Comedy.

He starred in many movies including Taboo 1 (1989), Karishika (1998), Igodo (1999), Aki na Ukwa (2002), His Last Action (2008), Sincerity (2009) and Without Goodbye (2009).
