A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, Emmanuel Ishaka, has faulted President Bola Tinubu’s appointment of Dr Dennis Otuaro as the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

In a statement on Tuesday, Ishaka noted that President Tinubu was misguided in his choice of Otuaro as administrator of the PAP and that majority of APC members in Delta State were not happy about the decision.

The statement read, “We, the dedicated members of APC in Delta State, reject the appointment of Dennis Otuaro of the Peoples Democratic Party and former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s protege as head of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

“We (APC) have very competent leaders in Delta State who are ready to project Mr. President’s renewed hope agenda to the fullest.

“Okowa and PDP in Delta State must not be allowed to reap where they did not sow.”

Ishaka went further to call on President Tinubu to cancel the appointment of Otuaro and pick a competent person from his party.

Calls and a text message sent to Otuaro’s mobile number over the issue were not answered as of the time of this report.

Tinubu had in March 2024 appointed Otuaro as head of the PAP.

Before then, he had served as a top-level executive of the Niger Delta Development Commission.

The PAP was established to rehabilitate and reintegrate ex-Niger Delta militants into the society after they had undergone skills and vocational training.
