The Nigeria Police Force has rescued three children who were allegedly locked in a room for days by their grandmother.
This was revealed by the spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin on X, adding that the suspects have been arrested while the victims are safely kept.
The children look hungry and emaciated like they had been starved in a picture shared by Hundeyin in the post.
The police spokesman wrote: “All thanks to vigilant neighbours who alerted the police, these children were rescued by police officers from Ikotun Division after being locked up in a room for days by their grandmother.
“The children are now in safe hands while their grandmother is in police custody. The investigation is ongoing. See something, say something!”
In 2021, media reported how officials of the Lagos State Police Command discovered a baby factory in the Isolo area of the state and rescued two pregnant ladies.
The factory was discovered after personnel of the command arrested a 60-year-old woman, Augustina Onyenwe, who was said to be operating the factory.
The police said the suspect was arrested following a tip-off.
