Finidi George, the head coach of the Super Eagles, has reportedly stepped down from his position.

Sources within the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) revealed this development, signaling the end of the former Enyimba coach’s tenure with the Nigerian national football team.

George, a celebrated Nigerian international and renowned winger, assumed the role with high expectations but did not secure a win in his first two matches.

George is a legendary figure in Nigerian football, with a distinguished playing career that included stints at Ajax, Real Betis, and Ipswich Town.

His appointment as the head coach of the Super Eagles was intended to leverage his experience and tactical acumen for the national team.

Following George’s resignation, the NFF will now commence the search for a new head coach to lead the Super Eagles, having previously demoted George and announced plans to hire a technical adviser.
