Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed that the fire had been extinguished and the church property saved.
The fire that razed the headquarters of Christ Embassy Church in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, on Sunday, has been put out, according to local authorities.

Earlier on Sunday, Gistcore reported that a fire had engulfed the church owned by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, in the Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos State, destroying property worth millions of naira.
Multiple videos from the scene were seen.
Posting on X, @Guavv918 said, “JESUS CHRIST… I just got to church. And the building is on fire. Christ Embassy Church.. Head Quarters (CELVZ) Billings way Ikeja is on fire. Love World Convocation Arena Is On Fire. God have Mercy.”
However, LASEMA in a statement said though the fire had been contained, the building would be subjected to testing.
According to the statement, the operation to contain the inferno involved all key stakeholders, noting that there were no casualties or mortality.
The statement partly read: “The massive fire has been brought under control and dampening down is ongoing, with monitored property salvage.
“The operation involved all key stakeholders. The building will be subject to materials testing.
“There were no casualties or mortality despite any reports to the contrary,” Oke-Osanyintolu said.
A check by media revealed the property was also gutted by fire on March 18, 2014.
