There is currently a fire outbreak at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in the Lekki Free Zone near Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre.
Media could not immediately ascertain the cause of the inferno which is currently raging.

Emergency response teams were dispatched promptly to the scene. Firefighters and other emergency personnel worked tirelessly to contain the blaze, which had rapidly spread due to the highly flammable materials on-site.

The refinery’s built-in fire suppression systems played a crucial role in controlling the fire’s spread, preventing what could have been a far more catastrophic event.
