On Friday, the second day of nationwide protests under the hashtag #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria, a demonstrator was shot by the Nigerian police at the Otovwodo junction in Ughelli, Delta State.

In a video obtained by media, the victim was seen conveyed in a motorcycle in a pool of blood.

Since the beginning of the the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest on August 1, protesters have voiced their anger against government failures, emphasising the severe impact of economic decisions on their daily lives.
Meanwhile, media had reported that one of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protesters in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, disclosed that Nigerian policemen shot directly at them while he was holding the Nigerian flag during the protest on Friday.
The victim in a video obtained on Friday stated that the police barricaded, attacked and shot at several protesters, near the National Hospital in FCT.
He explained that the police came and started hitting them with iron and big woods, noting that they had to run into the bushes for their lives.
