Lagos State Task Force Arrests Two Minors, 10 Adults As Suspected Miscreants In High-Brow Areas

The Commissioner, who said that the suspects were arrested by the Lagos State Taskforce team, noted that they would soon be arraigned in court.  

The Lagos State government has said it has arrested two minors and 10 adult “miscreants and destitutes” for constituting nuisance in Ikoyi, Victoria Island and Lekki-Ajah areas of the state.

The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who made this known on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday said the suspects were arrested on Thursday following the alarm raised by residents of the areas.

The Commissioner, who said that the suspects were arrested by the Lagos State Taskforce team, noted that they would soon be arraigned in court.  

Wahab said, “Acting on reports received from concerned citizens on the menace and nuisance caused by miscreants and destitutes, the Lagos State Taskforce team yesterday, deployed surveillance teams in some of the areas reported.

“Falomo in Ikoyi, Adeola Odeku and Sanusi Fafunwa in Victoria Island, Chisco, Ikate and Marwa, along Lekki-Ajah expressway, were monitored, leading to the arrest of 12 suspects; 10 adults and 2 minors.

“The suspects will be arraigned in a court of competent jurisdiction.”
