Police Launch Manhunt For Phone Snatchers Who St@bbed Minna Resident To Death

Abdulmutalib, who had planned his wedding with his fiancée for January 2025, was attacked while walking in the area. 

A young man, simply identified as Abdulmutalib, has been brutally stabbed to death by suspected phone snatchers in Minna, Niger State. 

SaharaReporters learnt that the incident occurred around 8pm along Old Secretariat Road, where he had gone to visit his fiancée at 123 Quarters.

Abdulmutalib, who had planned his wedding with his fiancée for January 2025, was attacked while walking in the area. 

His attackers took his mobile phone after stabbing him multiple times.

The victim was rushed to the General Hospital in Minna, where he later died from his injuries. 

The deceased’s brother, Tijani Ahmed, confirmed the tragedy, saying, “Innaillahi waalihi laihi rajiun. They killed my younger brother Abdulmutalib in Minna town.  

“Phone snatchers. They collected his phone, stabbed him multiple times, and killed him at about past 8pm around Old Secretariat.”

“Kai Allah ya Isa wallahi Allah ya jinkaka da Rahma sa Uncle Abdul Aameen.”

The deceased, who is a resident of the Brighter Area of Minna, was stabbed several times by his assailants.

In a related incident, another man’s corpse was discovered in the Julius Bagger Drainage at 123 Quarters on Monday morning. 

SP Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, confirmed the incidents to SaharaReporters saying the victim was rushed to General Hospital, Minna, where he gave up the ghost.

He further stated that the police were investigating the cases and working to arrest the suspects.

In the case of the man found in the drainage, Abiodun noted that it was a suspected sudden death, as he was found in the drainage without any injury or marks of violence. 

The corpse was evacuated to General Hospital Minna for medical examination.

“The victim was rushed to Gen Hospital, Minna where he gave up the ghost. The incident is under investigation, and efforts to arrest the suspects are intensified.
