Five people, including two brothers and a woman, were found dead in a room on Saturday in Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

The bodies were discovered by family members who became alarmed when the individuals did not come out of their bedroom.

It was learnt that two of the deceased were brothers, while the others were their friends.

Meanwhile, preliminary reports suggest generator fumes and food poisoning as potential causes of the deaths.

The Auchi Area Commander and the Jattu Police Station DPO emphasized that no conclusions will be drawn until a comprehensive investigation is completed.

State Police Command spokesperson, SP Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident and noted that investigations are ongoing.

“The command is aware. But investigation to unravel the cause of death is ongoing,” Yamu added.
