Dr. Osatohanmwen Osemwengie, a Nigerian-born engineer from Edo State, is one of the highly talented Nigerians making a difference in the global space.
Dr. Osatohanmwen is recognized globally for his contributions to drone technology, particularly for the U.S. military, better known as the ‘American Drone Builder.

Academic Achievements:
Dr. Osemwengie is renowned for his extensive academic background, holding seven Masters degrees and four PhD degrees. Before moving to the United States, Dr. Osemwengie was named Educator of the Year when he worked as an administrator at the College of Education, Benin, and later became an administrator and lecturer at the Columbus City School in the United States.
Founder of Open Robotics University
Osatohanmwen Osemwengie is the founder of the Open Robotics University, in collaboration with Google+.
The University is a tuition-free engineering degree-granting university with the aim to help talents in engineering fields expand their knowledge. He is also the Founder & CEO of Ubiquity Interface Inc. a Texas-based Engineering Corporation.
Contributions to U.S. Military Drone Technology
Dr. Osemwengie has been instrumental in designing and building drones utilized by the U.S. Army for surveillance and tactical operations. He and his brother, identified as Ken, who is a retired lieutenant colonel in the US Army also worked with a team of foreign engineers.
Beyond military applications, he also played an important role with NASA in drone technology and space exploration, including the innovation and production of the Mars Curiosity Rover.

Dr. Osemwengie is recognized as a leading Black scientist and engineer, with his work in drone technology being instrumental for both military and civilian applications, also published two books “Theory and Practice in Developing Advanced Small Multi-Rotor Aircraft. Family Milestone
Dr. Osemwengie is married with a daughter who works in Japan and a son pursuing advanced studies. He confirmed that he has a strong tie with his relatives whom he visits regularly when he is on the brake. Also, his brother Lt. Ken, who works for the US military, is a co-founder and president of Ubiquity Interface Inc. His family ties came to a limit in 2016 when he celebrated his mother’s 85th birthday in Nigeria.
