“Don’t blame most youths that are into fraud or businesses like illegitimate businesses. It’s because the country is faulty that you finish school, you graduate with first class or second class, you do not even have a job, there are no job opportunities, nothing.”
He said the lack of job opportunities and the country’s failing economy have made survival increasingly difficult for many Nigerian youths.
“And resulting in doing fraud and all of that but who are we to complain? Nigeria is getting worse day by day because the economy is not helping, the government is not helping and things are getting expensive,” he said.
The soldier also lamented the rising cost of goods, questioning why local prices keep increasing despite Nigeria’s resources.
“I can’t believe that I went to the market to get something like I got it from the supermarket already for a certain price, I went there the next day it was double the price, why? They said because they cannot do this blah blah blah… The price they are bringing it from is high, the light high. How is the Dollar affecting our country? Can’t we produce things on our own?” he asked.
Despite acknowledging the country’s problems, he encouraged Nigerian youths to persevere and seek success through legitimate means.
“Man, now is the best thing for you to do as a youth, do not let the challenges of the country wear you down. Know that you can achieve the best, know that anything you lay your hands on, you can become successful while doing it. I’m not advising you to go illegitimately, you should do something legitimate, but at least try your best.”
He also advised young Nigerians not to let the nation’s economic challenges push them into making poor decisions.
“Do not allow the country… The economy is bad, don’t allow it to affect you man. Just do your best, don’t do shit to get me.”
The #30DaysRantChallenge is a social media initiative that began recently in Nigeria, encouraging citizens to express their frustrations and grievances about the country’s current state over a 30-day period.
