A deadly accident has occurred at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) main gate, leaving two police officers dead after they were crushed by a trailer.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the officers were on a motorcycle when the speeding trailer ran them over around 2pm on Tuesday.
The tragic incident sent shockwaves through the campus community and surrounding area.
Students who witnessed the event confirmed that the officers died on the spot.
A graphic video obtained shows the bodies of the deceased with their skulls shattered and brain matter scattered on the ground.
As at press time, the identities of the victims have not been confirmed by authorities.
The Edo State Police Command has also yet to comment on the incident.
The Command spokesperson could not be reached for comment at the time of filing this report.
