The political temperature is rising ahead of the 2027 general elections as the North West stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, endorsing him for a second term and declaring “no vacancy in Aso Rock.”
This bold declaration came at the end of a high-profile stakeholders’ meeting held in Kaduna, which brought together top APC leaders and political heavyweights from the region. In attendance were the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, alongside his counterparts from Kebbi and Jigawa states. Also present were serving senators, House of Representatives members, former governors, federal cabinet members, heads of agencies, state assembly speakers, and party chairmen from the seven states of the North West: Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Jigawa, Sokoto, and Zamfara.
During the gathering, the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration in the North West and across the country were highlighted. Following an impassioned call to action, the resounding response from attendees to the question, “Is there a vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027?” was a unanimous “No!”
A vote of confidence was subsequently passed, with stakeholders endorsing President Tinubu to seek a second term in office. A communique was issued to formalize the endorsement.
“Insha Allah, we will have a landslide victory in 2027,” one of the speakers declared, urging party faithful to remain united, continue working with the president, and deepen collaboration across all levels of government to ensure success.
The North West zone, often seen as a critical stronghold in Nigeria’s electoral map, appears ready to rally behind Tinubu once again.
