Former Delta State Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Ifeanyi Okowa, was ridiculed by some women while addressing a political rally in a village.
In a video shared on X, by @UchePOkoye, the women could be heard saying “we no dey follow you go where you dey go.”
The rejection of Okowa and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by those women is enough proof that he lied about consulting widely with his people before decamping from the PDP.
Another X user, @kpakpando_Orsu1, wrote, “He failed to work for them No single infrastructure provided for them since he joined politics and he has been at loggerhead with people from that village since ages”
@Osikhena2014 said, “Very soon, Nigerians will start to deh stone these yeye ppl. That day is just round the corner. It will happen. Bookmark this post. 2027 is not what the current illegitimate govt they plan that will play out. If you have the mind to rig, be prepared to receive 2by4 oraimo cord.”
Yet another X user, @nze_Anambra, said, “The Man negotiated for non prosecution of his crime against humanity and want to force APC upon his people but his people instantly rejected him together with Tinubu”
Okowa’s rejection by his people at the grassroots is a reflection of their political consciousness and a confirmation that Nigerians will no longer tolerate political prostitution under the guise of alignments.
