In a dramatic escalation of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, Israeli forces bombed an Iranian state television building during a live broadcast, causing chaos and debris to fall within the studio. The attack, confirmed by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, occurred as part of a broader military operation targeting over 100 sites in Iran, including key figures and nuclear facilities.

The incident took place during a live program on the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN), operated by the state broadcaster IRIB. Footage from the scene showed debris falling around the news anchor, who continued broadcasting despite the disruption. Iran’s state media reported that Israel aimed to “silence the voice of truth” by targeting the building, but all programs resumed live shortly after the attack without further interruptions.

This strike is part of a series of retaliatory actions that have intensified the Israel-Iran conflict. Earlier, Israel launched surprise attacks that decimated Iran’s military leadership and damaged its nuclear program, prompting Iran to fire at least 100 ballistic missiles at Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa. The missile attacks injured 29 people in Israel and resulted in 224 deaths in Iran, predominantly civilians.

The Israeli defense minister stated that the attack on the state TV building followed a large-scale evacuation of local residents, emphasizing Israel’s intent to target Iranian leadership and infrastructure wherever they are located. The conflict has raised fears of a broader regional conflagration, with significant casualties reported on both sides.

International leaders, including those at the G7 summit in Canada, have expressed concern over the escalating violence, calling for de-escalation and diplomatic solutions. However, the cycle of retaliation continues, with Iran vowing painful revenge and Israel pledging further escalation in the coming days.

As the situation unfolds, the international community watches closely, hoping for a resolution to prevent further loss of life and escalation of the conflict.
