A tanker carrying diesel has collapsed around the Nkpolu Junction along the East-West Road in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Preliminary findings reveal the truck lost control and fell into the gutter after a tire burst.
Members of the public could be seen scooping diesel despite the best efforts of security agencies to try and stop them.

The road has been cordoned off by the officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) while the product is being trans loaded into another tanker.
While no casualties have been reported, there has been substantial damage to a smaller truck parked by the roadside.
