President Bola Tinubu has charged governors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) to prioritise grassroots development and deliver progressive change to Nigerians.
Speaking at the party’s National Executive Committee meeting at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu emphasised the need for governors to “wet the grass small” and lead the way in bringing about positive change.
“Nigerians are still complaining at the grassroots. To you the Governors, you have to wet the grass small and lead the way in delivering progressive change to Nigerians. May God bless our democracy and give us more fertile lands.
“Those who are working with me should achieve food guarantee for our country. We will continue to work hard for you, for the Nigerians and to listen to all of you to achieve the expected goals of this country,” Tinubu said.
The President’s remarks come as part of his efforts to strengthen the APC and improve governance at the grassroots level.
He also commended the widespread votes of confidence passed on him by party stakeholders across the zones, emphasizing that such support must be matched with greater unity, commitment, and service across all levels of government.
Tinubu also highlighted the importance of food security, investment, and development, assuring Nigerians that his administration is working tirelessly to achieve these goals.
He expressed gratitude to the governors for their support and pledged to continue working hard for the country’s progress.
