The Islamic police, Hisbah, has arrested 26 women at a hotel in the Kano metropolis over alleged immoral activities.

Confirming the arrest on Monday, the Deputy Commander General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Dr Mujahid Aminuddeen, told PUNCH that the operation was carried out with the support of military authorities.
“We want to use this opportunity to appreciate the military authorities and their commanders for the cooperation they gave us to conduct the operation successfully,” he said.
He added that many of the suspects were found drunk during the raid, and several cartons of assorted wine were recovered from the premises.
“We want to seize this opportunity to appeal to members of the public to continue to report to our office for such immoral activities, be it in hotels or residential houses, for prompt action,” he added.
Aminuddeen said the operation would be sustained as part of efforts to rid the state of immoral conduct.
