Neighbors told SaharaReporters that repeated complaints to relevant authorities have gone largely unheeded, allegedly because a “powerful” individual is involved with the property.
“Making this public could save lives,” one resident said.
“It poses great risk and danger to residents. Instead of simply demolishing the failed structure, they are trying to patch up the collapsed part.”
The building is located behind The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Grace City, directly opposite the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) Secretariat, off Ahmadu Bello Way.
SaharaReporters observed that officials from the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) Development Control Department had marked the structure as sealed on July 24, 2025, but concerns over its stability persist.
Residents are questioning why the authorities have not opted to demolish the structure instead of trying to patch up the collapsed section.
Residents continue to call for urgent action to prevent potential accidents and ensure the safety of those living or working nearby.
