Trouble reportedly began when women from the eight local government areas of the senatorial district demanded transparency regarding the total funds raised and how they would be disbursed.
Chaos erupted on Wednesday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta South women’s meeting over the allocation of ‘kola-nut’ money.
Kola-nut money typically refers to funds allocated by politicians or party members to cover the cost of kola-nuts, drinks, pocket money, transportation for attendees, and other refreshments at meetings or events.
The media gathered that the meeting, held at the Isoko South Local Government Secretariat in Oleh, Delta State, was attended by APC women leaders as well as female appointees and elected officials from the state government.
According to sources, over N50 million had been raised in donations from politicians and government officials across Delta South Senatorial District to cover ‘kola-nut’ and transportation for attendees. However, the APC women leaders reportedly refused to disclose the total amount collected from all donations.

The disagreement escalated into a protest and a free-for-all fight, resulting in broken car windscreens and forcing some meeting organizers to flee the venue to avoid being lynched.
A visibly angry APC women leader from one of the local government councils told the media that the State APC women leader, the Delta South APC women leader, and a few others allegedly conspired to hijack the over N50 million ‘kola-nut’ donations.
“This is very shameful, this is very disgraceful. You called women from eight local government areas for the APC meeting and the kola-nut money donated by our sons and daughters in government for a purpose, rather than releasing the money and sharing it with everyone that attended the meeting, you people connived and hijacked everything. What did women do to women? It’s a big shame,” she lamented.
Speaking along the same lines, a former PDP women leader, who requested anonymity, lamented the situation and accused the original APC members of orchestrating the incident.
“You see, what is happening in APC today in Delta State is nothing but hunger. Because APC has not seen such huge money before, and since the collapse of PDP into APC, money started flowing everywhere, and they are taking advantage of the flow of money, and that is why you see all these hijacks of kola-nut money every time there is a meeting of APC in the state,” she said.
“This same incident happened last month during the men’s Delta South APC meeting at Oleh where dollars were hijacked,” the former women leader lamented.
A similar incident occurred in June 2025 during the Delta South Unity and Stakeholders meeting of the APC, sparked by allegations that the party leadership, in collusion with some defectors from the PDP, hijacked $50,000 ‘kola-nut’ money.
It was gathered that the enlarged meeting, held in Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area in Delta State, was attended by former PDP members, including the dissolved state leadership, as well as APC members and top state and federal government appointees, all from the senatorial district.
