President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that corruption no longer exists in Nigeria, insisting his administration has restored accountability in public finance management.
Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday while addressing a delegation of Brazilian investors, Tinubu said his reforms have plugged leakages and freed up resources for national development.
“It’s getting clearer to the people. We have more money for the economy, and no more corruption,” the President stated.
The Federal Ministry of Information also amplified the remark on its official X handle, quoting Tinubu as saying his government will continue to block all avenues of waste and ensure transparency in governance.
Tinubu, who has repeatedly defended his economic policies, maintained that the ongoing reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda were yielding results despite initial pains faced by Nigerians.
His comments have sparked mixed reactions, as critics argue that corruption remains a systemic challenge in the country, while supporters describe the statement as proof of the administration’s determination to curb graft.
