The Kano State Police Command says it has arrested two suspects linked to an armed robbery and attempted murder case at Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos.
According to the command, its tactical operatives, acting on credible intelligence, apprehended the suspects on September 11, 2025, at Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano.
The suspects were identified as Mathew Adewole (25) of Na’ibawa Quarters and Mukhtar Muhammad (31) of Unguwa Uku Quarters, Kano.
Police said Adewole confessed to attacking a resident of Bera Estate, identified as Lil-Kesh, on August 19, 2025.
During the attack, the victim sustained a deep cut on the neck as the assailants attempted to rob and murder him.
The suspects also allegedly forced the victim to transfer N2,120,000 from his account via mobile phone to Mukhtar Muhammad’s account.
Spokesman of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, in a statement on Saturday, said the breakthrough was achieved through robust intelligence gathering and community collaboration, in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
He added that the suspects have since been handed over to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police in Kano, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the operatives for their diligence and thanked the public for their cooperation.
He assured that the command remains committed to strengthening security, maintaining public order, and collaborating with sister agencies to combat crime across the state.
