Management at Dangote Petroleum Refinery is said to have terminated all its Nigerian employees — less than 24 hours after reports that 90 % joined PENGASSAN.
A memo, dated September 25 and signed by the Chief GM of Human Asset Management, Femi Adekunle, cited a “total re-organisation” prompted by alleged acts of sabotage in various plant units.
The memo directed affected staff to surrender company property, get exit clearance, and have their benefits computed by the finance department in line with employment terms.
This move comes amid ongoing tensions between the refinery and PENGASSAN over union recognition.
As of now, clients of Dangote and labour groups are watching closely — and many fear this could trigger serious industrial unrest.
