According to a statement by Lt.-Col. Polycarp Okoye, Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations (2 Division), the GOC visited the Onidofin of Idofin, Oba Pius Oluwole, to condole with him and assess the situation.

During the visit, Oba Oluwole linked the repeated attacks to the community’s proximity to Babasango Forest, a known hideout for criminal gangs.

Major General Nnebeife assured the monarch of the Army’s resolve to maintain pressure on the bandits and clear out criminal elements from the forest region.

Earlier, during an operational visit to the Patrol Base at Babanla, the GOC and his troops advanced toward Babasango Forest, where they successfully rescued two kidnap victims from captivity.
