The ailing Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has been sighted at the O’DA Art Gallery booth during the 1-54 London Art Fair.
A short video shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday showed Edun in the company of two other people at the event.
THE PUNCH had earlier reported that Edun had taken ill and was initially receiving treatment in Nigeria. The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the development.
However, a follow-up report by THE PUNCH on Tuesday, quoting a source from Western Post, revealed that the minister had travelled to the United Kingdom for further medical attention.
It was also reported that Edun would not be attending this year’s World Bank and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings in Washington, D.C.
The Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, is instead leading Nigeria’s delegation to the global finance meetings, which commenced on Tuesday, October 14.
