VIDEO: Imo Policemen Openly Engage in Cult Activities

Policemen attached to the Imo State Police Command have appeared in a video shooting in the air and engaging in friendly interactions with individuals believed to be members of Vikings, a notorious cult.

In a video @naijaconfra, a page which monitors cult activities, posted on Friday, the policemen are seen chanting and gesticulating in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The post read, “These are police officers in Owerri, Imo State, openly disgracing the Nigerian Police Force by engaging in cult activities. They are boldly wearing Vikings (DNKI) berets and caps — an evil cult group responsible for countless deaths across Nigeria and beyond.

“These same officers are the ones often used to kill rivals during cult clashes. How can such officers arrest a Vikings cultist when they are members themselves? This is why Naija Confra has always opposed cultism within security agencies. It is also why we reject cult-sponsored charity donations to the security agencies — because those institutions are our last hope for safety.”

@naijaconfra added that the Imo State Command was unresponsive and would not do anything to address the incident.

Reacting, the state command issued a statement signed by Henry Okoye, its spokesman on Friday.

“The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, has ordered a thorough investigation into the viral video showing a group of police officers in an unacceptable display of unprofessionalism. The CP strongly condemns the conduct as unethical and unbecoming of police officers,” the command stated.
