Troops of the military Joint Task Force in Plateau state, Operation ENDURING PEACE, have raided a bandits’ hideout in Rawaya Village, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the State, recovering a cache of arms and ammunition.
It was gathered that the operation was carried out following credible intelligence confirming the stockpiling of arms and ammunition by bandits in the area.

Spokesman for the task force, Samson Nantip Zhakom, confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday evening.
The statement announced that during the raid, troops discovered two AK-47 rifles, one G3 rifle, one revolver pistol, four AK-47 rifle magazines, three G3 rifle magazines, 1,198 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition, four rounds of 7.62 mm (NATO) ammunition, three mobile phones, and other items.
“The suspect fled shortly before troops arrived at the hideout. However, a thorough search at the hideout led to the discovery of these arms and ammunition,” the statement.
Zhakom said the recovered items are currently in military custody for further action, and test efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing bandit and his collaborators.
The statement reiterated the commitment of Operation ENDURING PEACE to maintaining peace and security in the region, stating, “Operation ENDURING PEACE will remain decisive in its onslaught against criminal elements, while efforts to keep the Joint Operations Area safe will also be sustained”
