A month after U.S. President Donald Trump designated Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern and threatened a military invasion to neutralise terrorists attacking Christians, Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, on Wednesday, joined the campaign against Islamic jihadists attacking Christians in Nigeria, warning that the attacks must stop now.
In his Christmas message circulated on social media, Mr Netanyahu said Israel stands with Christians in Nigeria and other parts of the world, adding that the persecution of Christians around the world cannot be tolerated.
“Persecution of Christians and other religions can not and must not be tolerated. And Muslim militants attack against Christians in Nigeria, that too must end. It must end now,” Mr. Netanyahu said.
He added, “I’m sending Israel’s Christmas blessing to our Christians friends around the world. Know that Israel will always stand with you.”
Amid sustained campaigns against alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria, Mr Trump has continued to pressure President Bola Tinubu to tackle terrorism and terrorists killing Christians.
