Speculation is mounting in Rivers State political circles following reports that a son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is being positioned to contest for the Obio-Akpor Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
According to sources familiar with the development, consultations are already underway, with the former Rivers State governor reportedly introducing his son to political associates and close allies ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The move is said to be part of broader behind-the-scenes engagements aimed at testing political acceptance and consolidating support within the constituency.
The younger Wike, who is reportedly 25 years old, is said to be preparing to vie for the seat currently occupied by Rt. Hon. Kingsley Chinda, the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and a prominent figure in Rivers State politics.
