The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) under the leadership of Dr Tanimu Turaki, SAN, is currently in a closed-door meeting with ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.
The meeting is taking place at the Abuja office of the former President in Maitama area of Abuja.
The media gathered the meeting is part of the ongoing consultation with party leaders towards ending the impasse in the party.
Turaki and members of the NWC and some state chairmen of the PDP arrived at Jonathan’s office in Maitama, at 6pm.
The PDP has been embroiled in crisis since the conduct of the presidential primaries for the 2023 general elections that produced former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.
The crisis also led to the defeat of the party at the polls.Presently, the party is divided into two factions with the main group under the leadership of Tanimu Turaki and the splinter group led by Factional Caretaker chairman Abdulrahman Muhammed.
The Muhammed faction is loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike.
