The Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) has reported that Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, better known as Bobrisky, spent only three weeks in Kirikiri Prison despite receiving a six-month sentence for naira abuse in April.

On Tuesday, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan on social media, released a phone conversation where Bobrisky admitted to serving her sentence outside prison.

He/She also confessed to paying N15 million to have the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) remove ‘money laundering’ from the charges against her.

The media has report how Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has ordered an “unconditional and comprehensive investigation into the allegations of bribery and corruption within the Nigerian Correctional Service.”

According to FIJ, a source familiar with the case disclosed that while Bobrisky was indeed taken to Kirikiri Prison in April, she left after just three weeks, well before completing her sentence.

Despite her early exit, Bobrisky was only officially released from prison in August, further fueling the controversy surrounding her case.
