The Delta Air Lines plane with over 200 people on board has been evacuated after an engine caught fire while on the tarmac at the Orlando International Airport, Florida, the United States.
The incident involved Delta flight 1213, an Airbus A330 scheduled to depart for Atlanta. Flames and smoke were seen coming from the aircraft’s right engine, prompting an emergency evacuation, BBC reports.
“Passengers were evacuated. Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting team promptly responded,” the airport said in a post on social media.

According to Delta, the flight was carrying 200 passengers, 10 flight attendants, and two pilots.
“We appreciate our customers’ cooperation and apologise for the experience,” Delta said.
“Nothing is more important than safety and Delta teams will work to get our customers to their final destinations as soon as possible.”
No injuries were reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration said it has launched an investigation into the incident.
