The organisation stated that the two Nigerians have been handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Agency for further investigation and legal action.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Zliten, Libya, has arrested two undocumented migrants of Nigerian nationality on charges of drug trafficking.
According to a report by Migrant Rescue Watch on Sunday, the suspects were found in possession of quantities of hashish and hallucinogenic pills allegedly prepared for distribution.
The organisation stated that the two Nigerians have been handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Agency for further investigation and legal action.
“CID in Zliten arrested 2 undocumented migrants of Nigerian nationality on charges of drug trafficking. The individuals were found in possession of quantities of hashish and hallucinogenic pills ready for distribution,” it said.
“Both referred to Anti-Narcotics Agency for legal action.”
Libyan authorities have in recent months intensified operations against undocumented migrants involved in criminal activities, particularly drug-related offences, amid a broader crackdown on irregular migration and smuggling networks.
