Teenage Boy Stabs Friend To Death In Edo Motor Park During Dispute Over N2000

A 14-year-old teenage boy simply identified as Prosper has stabbed his friend to death, Osamede Osagbovo, during a dispute in Ramat Park, Ikpoba Hill, Benin City, over money they earned while working as touts.

Prosper and Osamede, who both worked at the busy loading point canvassing passengers for motorists and helping carry luggage for small payments, were said to have fallen out while attempting to divide N2,000 they had just made, Daily Trust reports.

Trouble reportedly erupted when Prosper allegedly refused an equal split of the money, insisting he had done more of the work.

The disagreement was said to have escalated into a fight.

During the scuffle, Prosper allegedly ran to a nearby spot, picked up a bottle and stabbed Osamede.

Witnesses said the victim died on the scene before any help could reach him.

Operatives of the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) on patrol were said to have intervened swiftly and arrested the suspect.

Confirming the incident, the Corps Deputy Commander, Richard Balogun, said operatives of the Corps, upon arriving at the scene, “apprehended the suspect and transferred him to the police for investigation and prosecution.”
