Drama unfolded during the installation of Oluremi Tinubu as Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodua when she publicly interrupted Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke for singing during the process of delivering his speech.
The ceremony, held at the palace of Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi in Ile-Ife, was attended by political leaders, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries, who gathered to celebrate the monarch’s 10th coronation anniversary.
According to the viral video , Adeleke began singing and playing music mid-speech, veering off from the prepared address.
In response, Remi Tinubu gestured towards the governor and warned, “I give you 5 minutes to conclude your speech. Enough with the music, or I’ll switch off the microphone.”
When Adeleke continued despite the warning, she stepped in again and firmly stated: “I will turn off the microphone. Stop the music.” The brief confrontation was caught on video and quickly circulated on social media.
The interruption sparked mixed reactions from the audience. Some criticized Tinubu, arguing that publicly admonishing a sitting governor was inappropriate.
The incident has since dominated online conversations, with many discussing the unusual exchange between a Remi Tinubu and Ademola Adeleke who is sitting governor.
