Rev Dachomo conducts another mass burial in Plateau amid genocide claims, urges self-defense

Plateau-based cleric, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, conducted another mass burial on Saturday in the Ratoso Fan District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area following a deadly attack on the community.

The attack reportedly occurred when suspected terrorists stormed a mining site in the area, opening fire on miners and killing at least 12 people on the spot.

Several others are still reportedly missing, further heightening fear and tension within the community.

During the burial, Rev. Dachomo was captured in a video that has since gone viral, urging residents to defend themselves whenever attacks occur.

“You have to defend yourself. We all have the right to survive. Do what you can do and God is going to help us,” he said.

The cleric recently drew national and international attention after alleging that Nigerian Christians are facing what he describes as genocide.

He had called for the intervention of former United States president Donald Trump, a move that sparked widespread debate.

Despite strong pushback from the presidency and other stakeholders, Rev. Dachomo has maintained his stance, insisting that Islamic extremists are persecuting Christians and are determined to wipe them out.

As insecurity continues to plague parts of Plateau State, the latest mass burial highlights the growing humanitarian and security crisis facing rural communities.
