BREAKING: Terrorists Invade Kwara Community, Residents Flee As Gunfire Rages

Residents of Gbugbu community in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State are reportedly under attack following an invasion by suspected terrorists, who opened fire and triggered widespread panic.

Sources said intense gunfire echoed across the community on Sunday, sending residents fleeing for safety.

The attackers were said to have stormed the area in large numbers, shooting sporadically as they moved through parts of the town.

As of the time of filing this report, there were no confirmed casualties.

The number of residents abducted, if any, also remains unclear, as the assailants were reportedly still ransacking parts of the community.

A local source told SaharaReporters that the sound of gunshots echoed for hours, leaving residents trapped indoors and others escaping into nearby bushes.

“We don’t know the number of those taken or killed yet. The situation is terrifying,” the source said.

The attack marks the latest in a troubling wave of violent incidents in Edu Local Government Area.

Previous assaults in the area have resulted in deaths, abductions, and destruction of homes and property, raising fresh concerns over security in parts of Kwara State.

Security operatives were yet to issue an official statement at the time of this report, while residents continue to call for urgent intervention to restore calm and safeguard lives and property.
