Dr Nasiru Idris was on Sunday declared the winner of the Kebbi State governorship election by the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The All Progressives Congress candidate was declared the winner by the Returning Officer in the state, Prof Sa’idu Yusuf.
Idris, who started his career as a teacher, garnered 409,225 votes to defeat his closest rival, Aminu Bande of the Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 360,940.
