Hamisu, abducted alongside his brother and his brother’s wife from Mashaya community in Sabon-Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, has finally regained his freedom after 98 harrowing days in captivity.
The ordeal ended on Wednesday morning in Marnona town, Wurno LGA, when a driver quietly arrived, carrying a frail and trembling man, according to Katsina-based security expert, Malam Bakatsine.
According to the report, Hamisu returned alive but was visibly exhausted, bearing the physical and emotional toll of nearly four months in the hands of his captors.
Weeks turned into months of fear and uncertainty for Hamisu and his family. His sister-in-law did not survive the ordeal, and his brother had managed to escape earlier, leaving Hamisu trapped in a nightmare that no family should ever endure.
News of his release spread through Mashaya like wildfire. Relief and sorrow mingled as the community celebrated his return while mourning the lives lost and grappling with lingering questions about the ordeal.
